NCCA Response to COVID-19
The NCCA’s mission statement is “The establishment and maintenance of professional standards within the carpet, soft furnishings, leather and hard floor cleaning industry, with the dual aim of safeguarding the reputation of the industry and protecting its customers.”
It is therefore our duty to protect the reputation of our industry and support our customers.
There are a number of companies claiming to be able to kill the Coronavirus COVID-19. Please note this is serious misinformation. COVID-19 is an enveloped virus, and at present there are NO KNOWN products certified to break that envelope. A professional cleaning company or chemical supplier/manufacturer should NEVER make this guarantee.
The NCCA response to COVID-19 is: Please don’t be misled by claims that cannot be backed up scientifically.
Regardless of what chemicals may be able to destroy the Coronavirus, we are not aware of a product that will kill the new strain, COVID-19, that has the legal backing. Scientific tests on COVID-19 are no doubt underway but are in the very early stages of testing.
A professional cleaning company will however, ensure that they are maintaining the correct hygiene practices to the highest standard, regularly disinfecting their equipment and wearing personal protective equipment to reduce the likelihood of spreading the virus.
As well as acknowledging the NCCA response to COVID-19, we recommend to follow official guidelines from GOV.UKand NHS. We are also following the technical cleaning advice from the British Institute Cleaning Science.

"I'm so pleased to have found Terry. Following a thorough review of my carpets and flooring, including taking dye tests, I was provided with a quotation. This represented approximately 5% of the value of the carpets. Terry completed the carpet cleaning task in my family home, which represented 7 large rooms plus three storey hall, stairs and landings, in the allotted time. I was delighted with the end result. All the dust marks removed from under doors and around skirtings and all those spots and marks removed from frequently used areas. There was no loss of colour. The loop stair carpets came up a treat with all treads restored to near new quality. To complete the job Terry restored my Karndean flooring in the vestibule, removing all the grime from 10 years of constant use by my family. Thankyou Terry."
